Poollock Hydraulic Automatic Safety Cover

Overview

Our automatic system is run by a hydraulic ‘direct drive’ motor/s which opens and closes the cover by turning the key. The cover runs up and down in a track system and is the ULTIMATE SAFETY COVER OPTION on the market not only because the electrical motor, called the Power Pack, is removed from the immediate pool environment but is located next to the Pool Pump. No electrical motor is installed within a meter from the water area.

This option works for both small (5m x 3m) to very large pools (25m x 8m).

Other advantages of this system include:

• very long lifetime

• versatile and adaptable

• no danger of electric related injuries because there are no electrical installations near the pool

• no motor damages caused by water

• can handle up to 250 kg per m²

• can open and close in less than 60 seconds

Added Benefits

As owners of Designer Pool Covers and as parents we encourage that every pool owner must have a comprehensive safety plan when considering having a pool. Legislation makes it compulsory that every pool must have a safety feature such as a net, fence or pool cover*.

Our range of covers is the ideal safety device because the cover acts as a horizontal fence, completely sealing off the pool and preventing accidental or unsupervised access by children, pets, and uninvited visitors.

Other safety features of our range of covers include:

• Strength: our covers can hold up to 150kg (on manual options) and 250 kg pm2 (on automated options)

• Accessibility: our covers can be locked and closed with various systems (depending on product chosen)

• Tamper proof and durable

*more information for each product will be covered in the sections to follow.

Apply multiple layers of security around your pool. Remember, there is no substitute for proper supervision or safety practices.

Keeping your pool covered when not in use has various economic benefits (for you and the environment):

• ensures that the water evaporation is reduced to a minimum (by 80%)

• your pool water heating cost is lowered considerably

• you save on chemicals (by 70%)

• maintenance and upkeep time is reduced

• the pool is ready to swim in at any time

You have designed and built the pool of your dreams to enjoy moments of peace, pleasure and relaxation, so by covering it with one of our products, it will ensure that:

• Dirt, leaves and debris are kept out of the pool

• Some options ensure that even rain water stays out

Do not waste your time cleaning it – just open a Designer Pool Cover and your pool is crystal clear and swim ready all year round.

We can customize manual or automatic covers and provide various installation options (such as above ground or below ground) on new builds, existing and free form pools depending on your requirements and budget of project.

We also offer different colour options and finishes.

Installation Options

This type of installation is used only for rectangular newly build pools or pools which are being renovated. This is because the pocket profile with the under track must be installed under the coping tiles / decking. The mechanism is always installed in a concrete pit on the deep end side of the pool. Optional extras will

be a vanishing lid system to accommodate the finishes of your pool (tiling or decking).

Advantages of this option includes no obstructions around the pool area and does not interfere with the aesthetics of the environment. It allows for effortless maintenance and is easily sustained.

If you are willing to have some work done around your pool, you can choose this type of installation. The principle is the same as described with the ‘under track – under mechanism option’ except the mechanism is positioned in the pit below the pool level. The pit for the mechanism must be built. Optional extras will be a vanishing lid system to accommodate the finishes of your pool (tiling, decking or steel)

Advantages of this option includes a simple installation process and easy maintenance.

You can choose this installation if you have an existing swimming pool and do not wish to have much work done around your pool. The track is installed parallel to each other down on top of your coping or decking and the mechanism sits finished level of pool. The top (or flat) track can be used for this installation and the mechanism can be covered with a bench for sitting on.

Advantages of this option includes quick turnaround on installation and easy maintenance.

This option is best for new pool builds as it is easier to implement the pit at building phase. The cover still operates on a track system but one side is mounted to the outside wall of the rim flow.

Advantages of this option includes no obstructions around the pool area and does not interfere with the aesthetics of the pool environment and the rim.

PoolLock Hydraulic Vinyl Cover options work well with free form pools (both existing and newly built). This option will work as long as we have a flat surface around the pool and enough space to install the tracks on the paving. The track is installed parallel to each other down on top of your coping or decking and the

mechanism sits finished level of pool. The top (or flat) track can be used for this installation and the mechanism can be covered with a bench.

Advantages of this option includes quick turnaround on installation and easy maintenance.
